WELCOME TO PROJECT SERVE JAMAICA BLOG!
Welcome to the new Blog for the Project Serve Jamaica TEAM! We are VERY excited to tell you all about our team!
The team is made up of 11 students and 3 leaders who are excited to serve God. This is a BRAND NEW trip I am starting. We will be going in February, and we have already chosen the students and the 2 other adult team leaders who will be working with me. We have had and will continue to have many team meeting to prepare for the trip. It is amazing to see these students sacrifice many things in order to make this trip happen. I am so excited to see what God is going to be doing in these students’ lives this year.
While we are there this coming February, we will be staying at the YWAM base in Montego Bay. The staff is a great group of people who are very excited to see our Project Serve group come. They were very welcoming and encouraging to my sisters and me during the preliminary trip. We will be working at Blossom Gardens Children’s Home(orphanage/group home), School Ministries and with YWAM on a project called Homes of Hope. Homes of Hope is a YWAM ministry that finds a family in need of a home and puts them in a partnership with the local church, from there they find a team of builders, which for one family will be us! We will be fundraising here at home and then be doing the building project in February, and we are so excited to be able to bless this family spiritually, and with a reliable shelter! Please pray that God will be working in the lives of the team, softening hearts and preparing them to serve in a poverty stricken nation, and to have lives changed. Also pray that the hard work we will be doing raising support will provide us with the necessary means to be able to do all the things God has laid on our hearts. I am confident that because God has called us to Jamaica, He will provide. That is always what is exciting when it comes to ministry!
This is our First Team picture in Jamaica. I had an amazing experience checking out the ministries that the team will be involved in when we go in February, and CANT WAIT to get the TEAM there!
